THE CULT Signs With ROADRUNNER RECORDS
May 29, 2007THE CULT has signed with Roadrunner Records, according to Billboard.com. The group's first new album since 2001's Atlantic set "Beyond Good and Evil" will be released Sept. 25 in conjunction with its own New Wilderness imprint. The as-yet-untitled set is being recorded in London with producer Youth. An official press release announcing the Roadrunner deal is expected later today.
THE CULT guitarist Billy Duffy told ChartAttack.com back in March, "We've got some ideas [for a new CD] down, circulating. Each album gets its own life and while it's early to really tell with this one because it's in the formative stages, it still feels trashy and sort of ramshackle, which I like. [Singer] Ian [Astbury] isn't singing with THE DOORS anymore and I think that's lifted his spirits for a CULT record, too."

THE CULT's current touring lineup includes principals Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy alongside bassist Chris Wyse, drummer John Tempesta (ex-WHITE ZOMBIE, TESTAMENT, EXODUS, HELMET) and rhythm guitarist Mike Dimkich.
